Reubens 45th Annual Sausage Feed
Lewiston
45th Annual Reubens Sausage Feed
Every year on the first Sunday in March you’ll find dozens of volunteer workers gathered for the annual Reubens Sausage Feed. This isn’t just any old sausage feed. Its one of the few breakfast sausage feeds. It’s perfect for even the hungriest sausage lover since it’s an All-You-Can-Eat affair.
The menu features delicious Genesee Sausage, your choice of Buttermilk or Old-Fashioned Sourdough Pancakes (or have both kinds), Scrambled Eggs, Coffee and all the trimmings. There will be hot chocolate on hand for those that prefer it over coffee. A variety of syrups will be available including some fruit flavored ones as well as a sugar-free syrup for those that have dietary restrictions.
Some years, people had to wait a good while to get seated to eat. Although the wait was worth it, that problem has been minimized with several additional tables. For those that do have to wait a little while to get seated, they can hang out upstairs and listen to the fabulous music of the Banana Belt Fiddlers who faithfully come every year to donate their time and talent.
This event became a permanent memorial to Bill Thomason in 2007. He was the mayor of Reubens for 42 years and his hard work and dedication was a huge reason the sausage feed took place all these years. Unfortunately, Bill was instantly killed, in November of 2006, in a tragic car accident on Highway 95/12 near the Clearwater River Casino when his vehicle was hit by an oncoming semi-truck. He is greatly missed but the Sausage Feed lives on under the direction of his son Kelly Thomason.
When? Sunday March 1, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m (new hours) at the Reubens Community Center.
Where? In Reubens Idaho, up on the Camas Prairie.
How Much? $25 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids in the immediate family) or $8 for 12 and older, $5 for 6-12, and kids under 6 are FREE!

Past appearances include residency programs for the Kennedy Center and appearances on NPR.
The Silverthorne Series provides the students of LCSC and our community with exposure to cultural and educational experiences through presentations of performing artists; the programming is presented by Lewis-Clark State College Continuing Education & Community Events and is funded, in part, by LCSC student fees and the Lewiston Independent Foundation for Education.
